Using Chess Diagram Creator to make web graphics

You will need an image editing program to save the graphics as GIFs or JPEGs (or possibly PNGs). A very good freeware program for this is IrfanView.

You could follow this procedure:

  1. Create your diagram in Word Pro using CDC. Using a font size of 18 seems to work well.
  2. Click on the edge of the diagram so that the frame is selected.
  3. Copy the frame to the clipboard. Word Pro will create a bitmap of the frame contents as part of the clipboard package.
  4. Switch to (for example) IrfanView and paste the picture as a new image.
  5. Save as a GIF (or JPEG or PNG)
  6. If you want to you can now delete the diagram from Word Pro.
Instructions for using CDC with Chessbase are included in the download.
